MEWS DWELLING AT PEMBROKE LANE

BALLSBRIDGE, DUBLIN 4.

No. 24 Pembroke Lane was originally a 19th-century coach house with a small rear yard. Over time, it had been altered and adapted, with the entire ground level used for parking and the first floor left as disused office space in poor condition. The design approach seamlessly blends old and new, combining traditional and contemporary elements. The goal of the redevelopment was to provide a high standard of living while preserving the building’s original features. The dwelling features a double-height hall with a contemporary staircase. The first floor includes three bedrooms, a walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom, and storage. On the ground floor, an internal courtyard separates the main living space from the family area. The primary family area consists of a spacious open-plan living, kitchen, and dining space, designed as a single-story extension with direct access to the rear garden.
